I used to be able to save an Outlook folder (and all its messages) as a PDF. This was an excellent archiving tool for me, but since I upgraded to DC (at Adobe's pop-up suggestion), I no longer have the option. I tried everything suggested at Fix PDFMaker unavailability in MS Office but, alas, the ad. Adobe Acrobat PDFMaker (the Convert To Adobe PDF button in the PDFMaker toolbar/tab) is an add-in that creates PDF files from Microsoft Office applications. This feature installs with Acrobat Professional and Standard. In MS Office 2003 and earlier, PDFMaker uses Adobe PDF Printer to a create a PostScript file.
1.Enable the Acrobat PDFMaker Add-in
- Open Outlook 2016 and click File > Options > Add-ins.
- Select COM Add-ins next to Manage and click Go.
- In the list of available add-ins, find the Acrobat PDFMaker COM Add-in and check if it's enabled. If it isn't, check the box to enable it.-> here, when I check the box, after restart of Outlook, it will be unchecked. That is, it doesn’t allow me to ‘enable’ it.
2.Disable and Enable the Acrobat PDFMaker Add-in
- Open Outlook 2016 and click File > Options > Add-ins.
- Select COM Add-ins next to Manage and click Go.
- In the list of available add-ins, find the Acrobat PDFMaker COM Add-in and check if it's enabled. If it is, uncheck the box to disable it.--> It is already disabled (unchecked).
- Close and reopen the Office 2016 application.
- Go back to COM Add-ins, enable the Acrobat PDFMaker add-in, then click OK.--> I checked but nothing happened. Nothing happened even on restart of Outlook.
2.Remove and reinstall the Acrobat PDFMaker Add-in
- Find Outlook 2016, right-click it, and click Run as administrator.
- Open a blank new file.
- Click File > Options > Add-ins.
- Select COM Add-ins next to Manage and click Go.
- Select the Acrobat PDFMaker COM Add-in and click Remove.-->I removed successfully.
- Click Add and navigate to C:Program Files (x86)AdobeAcrobat 2015PDFMakerOfficePDFMOfficeAddin.dll.-->Added as specified.
- Close and restart the Office 2016 application.--> when I am restarting the Outlook 2016, the addin does not show even in ‘inactive’ column. That is, it does not allow me to reinstall the addin.
- Go to Start and search 'Run'. You can also press on the Windows Key + R to bring up the Run window.
- In the Run window, type 'regedit'.
- Find this registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftOfficeWordAddinsPDFMaker.OfficeAddin.
- Change the Loadbehavior key value to 3. (decimal)à It is already set as specified.
- Exit the registry key editor and restart the Office 2016 application.--> when I restart, the add-in still won’t appear in the tab.
4.Register the DLL
·I tried registeringthe Add-in dll file manually.
·Locate the COMadd-in file (PDFMOfficeAddin.dll) and note the exact path, which may includespaces. Bmw fsc code generator.
·Open the cmd->runas admin.
- Type regsvr32 followed by a space, and then type the path that you noted in previous step, in quotation marks. For example: regsvr32 'C:Program FilesAdobeAcrobat 10.0PDFMakerOffice PDFMOfficeAddin.dll '
- Click OK, and then start the Office application.--> when I restart outlook, still the add-in does not show as active.
·The similarregistry, as in point 3, was found in HKCU too:HKCUSOFTWAREMicrosoftOfficeWordAddinsPDFMaker.OfficeAddin.
·Initially, when Itry to change its load behavior as 3, it gets changed. But, after opening theOutlook 2016, it is again set to value 2. Thus, it is editing it in run time. So, this method also fails.
This last step may be the huddle due towhich it is not activating it. Since the value keeps on changing during the runtime. I found this particular step in various websites stating that loadbehavior should be 3 so that when we restart Outlook from step 1, the add-in isactive and enabled and does not get disabled henceforth.

The December 2018 Acrobat release disabled XPS and EMF file conversion to PDF. At Adobe, we build security into our products and we implement numerous security processes and controls to help us comply with industry-accepted standards, regulations and certifications. Some examples of overall security improvements specific to Acrobat and Reader include: sandboxing (Protected Mode and Protected View), fuzzing high value targets like the broker process, finding memory corruption bugs via ASAN/GFlags, and running continuous static analysis on the codebase. Additionally, as an added security measure, where we see features with low usage, like XPS and/or EMF to PDF conversion, we disable these features. However, if you trust the document origin, you can enable the feature by creating and setting the preferences below.

PDFMaker
These preference control the Adobe Sign UI in MS Office applications when PDFMaker is present. Note the following:
- Windows has two prefs that interact with each other as follows: EnableSignInOffice = 1 overrides DisableSignInOffice (null, 0, or 1) if present.
- MS Office products can display one of two Adobe signature-related UIs: One provided by Acrobatâs PDFMaker add-in and one provided by the Adobe Sign web add-in if it's installed it from the Office store. On Windows, by default, if Acrobat detects the presence of the Adobe Sign UI, PDFMaker does not show its Sign UI. On Macintosh, Acrobat cannot detect the Adobe Sign UI, so the PDFMaker Sign UI displays by default. The settings enable admins to customize which signature UI appears.
